Committed and Dependable. Those are two words the administration used to describe Jimmy Mullins, who has worked as a custodian for over a decade.
“I come to work, do a good job, and I love working here,” said Mullins.
Mullins has a positive connection with the students and staff, noting how friendly they are toward him. Elizabeth Hoffbauer, a social studies teacher for NWHS, has known Mullins since he started.
“Jimmy is one of those core people who I know is kindhearted and willing to help out,” said Hoffbauer.
Hoffbauer respects Mullins because he does a job that not many people would want to do, and he does it without complaint.
“Thanks for all your service!” said Hoffbauer.
During the COVID-19 epidemic, Mullins stepped up by ensuring everything was clean while there were extra requirements for sanitization. During the uncertain early days of the virus, Mullins sanitized every surface that staff and students might touch, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
“He takes a lot of pride in his work,” said Anspaugh.
As a custodian, Mullins has to be detail-oriented while being able to communicate with his co-workers.
They have also said that Mullins’ skillset goes beyond his job as a custodian. Social studies teacher Scott Guilfoil, a friendly colleague to Mullins, views him as an incredibly diligent worker for the school.
“I think sometimes [the work] it goes unnoticed,” said Guilfoil.
Guilfoil explains how the school makes a substantial amount of trash and how Mullins does an excellent job ensuring the cleanliness of the building.
