Junior Kayleigh Rice has demonstrated great effort at Northwest High School, from joining the wind ensemble in her freshman year to making her family proud. She works towards the positivity that comes from achieving her goals.
“I take pride in them. [Grades] I like to maintain all A’s/4.0 GPA. It is my biggest achievement.” Said Rice
For Rice, grades are significant in her everyday life. She has successfully maintained a 4.0 since her freshman year and works hard to keep it. She consistently strives to be the best version of herself, demonstrating this through her academic performance. With these exceptional grades, she aims to become valedictorian next year when she graduates.
On top of maintaining a 4.0 GPA, Rice is also a part-time college student.
“I like dual I think it is very convenient and a good way to prepare for your future,” said Rice.
She has completed Intercultural Communications and is now working hard in her psychology class.
Rice values art and music in her life and thus she dedicates time to being a part of band and choir.
“Kayleigh is always on top of her music and working to improve,” said Bryan Mangivalano
During her freshman year, Rice tried out for wind ensemble and made it in. Rice is also a section leader in jazz band.
“Kayleigh is a fantastic student, musician, and leader.” said choir director Mathew Snell.

Not only does Rice dedicate her time to band, but she is also in Serenade, an audition choir here at Northwest High School.
“I set high expectations for myself because I want to make them (her parents) proud and exceed their standards,” Said Rice
Like most, Rice has a reason for her good performance. Her main reason is herself. She strives to be the best version of herself and shows this through her work ethic and by developing new skills.
“Kayleigh has a personality that shines and makes others look up to her” Said Mangiavellano
Rice is demonstrating great efforts at Northwest High School and continues to find ways to exceed her peers’ expectations.
