It has been eight years since the student body has donned costumes for Halloween at school. With the help of the Renaissance Exchange Council (REC), the event has returned.
REC approached the administration and requested that the students be permitted to dress up back to the school to improve the social connections between students.
“We chose this year to try it again with the hopes students would participate and have fun while being respectful, responsible, kind, and hardworking,” said Buchler.
While the event is back, there are still safety precautions in place. Precautions such as no masks, certain headwear, and limited face paint are to make sure students can be identified. The administration also wants to uphold dress code standards to guarantee a safe and proper social environment.
Now that students have the opportunity to express their creativity and bond with others over their fantasies, this tradition can circulate with students new and old for years to come.
