   A new illness called Norovirus spread rapidly around America, mostly affecting children under five. There have been 1,395 cases of Norovirus in Michigan, which is a higher record than the past years regarding illnesses.  

   This virus is foodborne and known to cause Gastroenteritis (a stomach flu which is an intestinal infection).

   Symptoms of Norovirus:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Low-grade fever
• Headache 

   While there is no cure for norovirus, you can Take IV fluids which will help with dehydration caused by vomiting.

   The virus got its name from the outbreak that affected over 50% of the school at Norwalk Elementary in Norwalk, Ohio.

   The norovirus was first identified in stool specimens collected during an outbreak of gastroenteritis after the Norovirus in Norwalk, Ohio. It was the first viral agent shown to cause gastroenteritis.
