Past experiences can shape one’s actions, especially if they are from one’s childhood. These experiences can be caused by various emotions such as despair, enjoyment, frustration, etc. Depending on what this may be, it can change a person’s behavior.
Junior Anala Pinson does not consider her actions unjust. She shapes her experiences into something positive that she can adapt from and share.
From past experiences with seeing family in court, Pinson wants to pursue a Law Degree and become a judge. Seeing the unfair truth within the court, Pinson wishes to contribute towards something better.
“I had experienced grown-up things at a very young age, I knew when I was little that I didn’t want to take the same path as my biological parents,” said Pinson.
Thanks to others in her life who help her out, she has been fortunate in the end. However, Pinson still notices many vile actions in the justice system and wants to be the other person, like in her childhood, helping them.
“I want to help others because I had people in my corner fighting for me when I was going through a hard time. I want to be that person for someone else,” said Pinson.
Determination got Pinson going, so she joined the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) program at the Jackson Area Career Center (JACC). There, she met many other students and her sergeants, who were just as passionate about fighting for others as she was.
“Anala is an example to her peers and is a great help to her instructors! She has the potential to achieve whatever she puts her mind to,” said Sergeant Michael Nichols.
Through her involvement in the JROTC program, Pinson has continued to be successful. She has been a great help in the program and takes any opportunity to help her peers. Pinson has contributed to being a leader by preparing her comrades for success.
“She is a very driven individual, she pushes herself harder each day with any new task,” said Perez.
Pinson takes action towards anything. Pinson is an individual who is always ready for the day and is always willing to help her comrades, especially her sergeants.
“Cadet Pinson is usually the person that asks if there is anything to be done before we can ask her. She has a balance of seriousness and fun,” said Sergeant Michael Monroe.

Enlisting to fight for your country is a difficult decision that can cause fear in one’s family. Although Pinson’s moms are concerned about her enlistment, due to the political climate and possibly war, they have high hopes for her success.
“Her commitment, loyalty, and strength that I see in her current commitments is what is going to get her through the hard moments as she pursues her career goals,” said Stefanie Pinson.
The support Pinson has received from her family has had a profound impact on her. Her efforts have noticed and appreciated every aspect of her. Excitement and nerves may be present, but her moms see positivity in her success.
“I feel positive about what she is doing in her life at the moment and I believe it is a good foundation for where she is heading,” said Mandi Pinson.
Pinson has been a prime example of someone who wants change for the better, a motivator, and a successor. Her plans for the future all have come from past experiences that she has adapted from. Pinson is taking her path in life and is ready for what hits her along the way. Thanks to her moms and comrades, Pinson has shaped her justice and is ready to shape others.
