At 8:44 a.m., Northwest Community Schools alerted families that a man fleeing a felony traffic stop attempted to enter the front doors of Northwest Early Elementary. He was unable to gain access and was quickly apprehended by law enforcement on scene. No students or staff were harmed.

   In a follow-up message, the district clarified that families would continue to see a strong police presence at the building because today is Shop With a Cop, an event already scheduled and unrelated to the morning’s incident. Authorities confirmed there are no ongoing safety concerns.
