Discovering what makes people unique is an exciting part of growing up. Whether it is finding a favorite hobby or a sport that sparks our passion, people can discover things that truly reflect who they are. Some people find their individuality by expressing themselves through art, and senior Miracle Pollock is a perfect example.

Pollock has been extremely passionate about art for as long as she can remember. However, she first began to focus and cultivate her art in third grade. Through the lessons of YouTube and online art communities, she developed her skills and is now a multi-award-winning artist.
She prefers traditional and digital drawing, with her style leaning towards semi-realism; sometimes she experiments with clay sculptures as well. Artists WLOP and Ruan Jia inspire her deeply and guide her artistic growth.
“I’m definitely still developing my style, but they’re a big inspiration for the direction I want to grow in,” said Pollock.
Her artwork has been featured many times throughout the years, primarily in online contests, student exhibitions, and even at the Ella Sharp Museum.
“Getting my work showcased at the Ella Sharp Museum was really exciting and, honestly, a big surprise! I had just submitted it to the student art show, as I usually do, and then I found out it was selected. It caught me off guard in a really good way. Seeing my art displayed and knowing others can enjoy it is so rewarding,” said Pollock.
After graduation, Miracle plans to attend the University of Michigan. While she is not completely sure what she will study, she is interested in a science-related field. She also plans to continue creating art and is considering pursuing an art minor to further her passion. Good luck, Pollock!
