The women’s self defense class scheduled to begin in January has been postponed until further notice due to the number of minimum participants not being reached. Miss Hade is working with police officers from around the area to reschedule the session, but needs more ladies to sign up. If you are interested in learning about how to defend yourself in a scary situation, please contact Miss Hade in room 106 and feel free to ask any questions you have.

The Northwest PTO Quartermania silent auction is now being held for three teachers battling cancer. All proceeds will be split equally among the families of Dorian Lowden, Kim Csage, and Becky Baum. The auction will be held at Parnall Elementary Gymnasium/Cafeteria on Friday, March 6, 2015. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., bidding begins at 6:30 p.m., and the event will end at 8:30 p.m. If there are any questions feel free to contact Sarah Day (517) 252-1157 or Monica Shelton (517) 817-4910. Participating vendors include: Thirty One, Partylite, Jamberry Nails, Young Living, Tupperware, Origami Owl, Celadon Road, Tastefully Simple, and many more.

The community chili dinner held in the Northwest High School on January 30 was a great turnout with 187 tickets sold to members of the community. The cost for each person to eat was an estimated $2.85, but tickets were sold for only $2.00 a piece. Though no profit was made overall, strengthening the bond in the community was the intention of this event. Miss Hade plans to host yet another community event in the spring time.
