The theme this marching season is Yin and Yang, which is the balance between light and dark.

The marching band is performing six songs this year at their halftime show, including “House of the Rising Sun” and “Clair De Lune”.

This year’s band has 130 kids in it and they are working hard to make this season as good as last years.

Band director Mr. Brian Mangiavellano, has high hopes for this season.

“I think this band has a ton of potential that they’re living up to so far,” said Mangiavellano.

The band has been working since early Aug. at band camp to perfect the marching and music.

“Band camp went really well for us. I think we learned a lot of our sets and music,” said Mangiavellano.

On Sept. 24 the Marching Mounties fundraised by washing a total of 116 cars at the annual Car Wash-A-Thon.

On Wednesday, Sept. 28, Panda Express will donate 20 percent of a purchase when the flyer is shown to the cashier.

The marching band’s next performance is at the home football game on Friday, Sept. 30.
