Upcoming Spooky Sprint raises scholarship money for seniors

  The Jackson Counseling Association will be hosting their annual Spooky Sprint for scholarship 5k run and walk on Oct. 21. The event is being held to help raise money for scholarships for local seniors.

  It is $25 to race, and $2.75 to sign up. The price increases to $30 after Oct. 16.

  Prizes are awarded to top male and female runners of age groups 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 and over. There is also a costume contest. Large, bulky costumes are not allowed due to safety concerns.

  The race is being held at Kidder Middle School, and begins at 9 a.m. Register before Oct. 13 to be guaranteed a long sleeve tee shirt.
