The American Red Cross will be hosting a blood drive at the high school commons area on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The event is sponsored by Student Government.

“Students need to insure that they eat breakfast and drink lots of water on the day of and prior to their donation,” said Student Government adviser Abby Tanner, “but stay away from caffeine.  Remember, one donation can save three lives.”

There is a list of requirements donors must meet that vary based on gender, height, weight, and age in order to be eligible to donate blood.  Students must be 16 with a parent’s consent or 17 to donate on their own.

For more information, visit the Red Cross website, or see Mrs. Tanner in room 515.
