Coat drive helps those in need

Amya Case, Co-Editor in Chief

Western and Northwest high schools came together for a night of community fundraising. During the Varsity basketball games on January 19, both districts united their efforts in a coat drive. This gave the districts an opportunity to use a competitive event to support those in need.

Many items were donated such as old coats, gloves, scarves, hats, boots and other clothes needed for the cold weather.

Together the Western and Northwest communities were able to fill 11 large, garbage bags with the winter clothing items.

All clothing will be donated to the Jackson Outreach Center and given to men and women of all ages and sizes.

The school would like to thank everyone who supported and donated to the drive.
