National Honor Society

Anthony Cole, Sports Editor

The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. Different from just being on honor roll, NHS serves to also recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, service, and character.

Students who have a grade point average above 3.0 after completion of their freshman year will receive an invitation to join. NHS is in the process of collecting membership applications this year. The applications are due Oct. 16.

Members meet monthly to discuss opportunities both as a group and individually for service projects. The first meeting will be held during the week of Oct. 22-26.

There are many scholarship opportunities available to senior members preparing to go off to college. More information is available by seeing business teacher Mrs. Randi Watts in room 500.
