Positive behavior improves from the start

Anthony Cole, Sports Editor

During the start of the year, Northwest High School has seen a positive improvement over last year’s behavior referrals. This is based on recent information gathered from referral reports (from SWIS).

These reports breakdown a day by day basis but are also each week. The most common referrals last year were technology violations, and this year it is still the most frequent. However, last year within the first few weeks of school there were 82 technology violations, but this year there have been only 26.

Overall, referrals have declined from 224 to 119. Through the PBIS training and the SWIS data, Northwest administration will continue to work toward improvements. They will use data to monitor this positive change moving forward.
