Salvation Army looking for volunteers

Salvation+Army+looking+for+volunteers

With Adopt a Family now open for donations and the giving trees all in place, another group that students can support is the Salvation Army. They are looking for individuals to help volunteer with the upcoming distribution days and other activities.

At the Jackson Crossing Mall, the Salvation Army volunteers as bell ringers to collect additional donations on December 11. They still do not have enough people to fill the openings, but any adult and high school students with permission are welcome.

Volunteers for the distribution days are essential because the items would not be given to the families without them, and there are multiple opportunities for individuals to help. The volunteers can help distribute the items to each family on December 13 from 11:15 a.m.-2:00 p.m., December 14, 8:45 a.m.-11:30 a.m., and December 15 from 11:15 a.m-2:00 p.m.

Although each distribution shift must have an adult present, they may also have up to ten students, but permission slips must be submitted by December 10 before 2:30 p.m. Due to the ongoing pandemic, COVID-19 procedures will continue to be in place during the event.

If a staff member wishes to participate, they must find their sub coverage, and students will be marked absent as the event is not district approved. Nonetheless, the families and Salvation would appreciate any help to make the event go smoothly and be as unique as possible.
